1920s COTSWOLD COTTAGE LOUNGE
Although this room was a bright and inviting space, it was also a blank canvas of white walls and with an uninspiring hearth. We knew that the fireplace needed to centre the space and add character to the room. We suggested reinstating the wood burner and framing this detail with a gorgeous pattern tile and a deep natural wood mantlepiece. This created a bold and interesting feature with space to style a collection of striking artefacts, amassed through years of travel.

Our clients were keen collectors of vintage antiques and geological curiosities. It was important for them to be able to exhibit these items within their lounge space. Therefore, we included rich textiles from our clients' voyages to South-East Asia and North Africa, vintage furniture pieces alongside modern stylistic additions, and high scaffold board shelving for display space. We feel that the overall effect is an absolute triumph.
